Survival Class – July 20th

We are tentatively planning a survival class for July 20th.  This class will be a more in depth and even more hands on training than our workshop at Godfrey’s Pond.  This class will be suitable for the novice to intermediate skill level.

This is tentative based on the relatively short notice and attendance.  We are setting a limit of 12 attendees for this class.
We will be covering the base topics (and more):
Shelter – Shelter Basics
Fire – Basic fire making (no lighters or matches)
Water – procuring, purifying, and unusual water sources
Signaling – various ways to signal rescue including signal mirrors, signal fires, contrast and natural materials
Navigation – group hike on the trails with demos / discussions

Date: Saturday, July 20th, 2013
Time: 09:00am to 5:00pm
Fee: $75.00 per person (family discount offered for more than one member from a family…contact for details).

If you have any questions or are interested contact us.

I am an avid outdoorsman. I have been outdoors since I was a kid. I was in Boy Scouts until we moved during my junior year of high school. At which point I was Life rank starting to work toward Eagle. I have been camping, hunting, fishing, hiking as long as I can remember. I have done presentations and workshops with groups ranging from children to adults. I have done several presentations/demonstrations in regards to fire making and knot tying (most popular) and many other topics. I have worked with a variety of scouts and leaders. We had a preparedness group where we would discuss various topics related to being prepared, canning, gardening, natural disasters, etc. I truly enjoy sharing the knowledge I have with others.
